Review

Sasha here! ๐Ÿ‘‹

We have a student lead and developed game today!

This dropped on boxing day this year (2025).

The game mechanic is what drew me in; a grappling anchor used to build momentum and move around the world. What surprized me was that the characters are voice acted and there's a full story going on... for a project that was completed in 6 weeks I think that's pretty impressive.

The movement while swinging is fantastic. It feels great. No real complaints about it. I'm happy it worked the way it did otherwise I might not have invested as much time exploring since the levels are very large.

If you want a good sense of what the game is, the trailer is great. It doesn't confuse you as to what the game is like/about (Unlike some other games on Steam).

Bugs

The game does have bugs.

Twice I had to restart a level. First was because I got stuck on level geometry, and the second was because the level sort of just quit itself during a cutscene.

There were some other bugs related to level design where you could skip cutscene triggers, effectively sequence breaking some of the story beats. These were typically handled well enough, but for someone like me that will break out of bounds any chance I get? Not much so.

Is the game still worth checking out?

Absolutely! The movement is what's fun about this game. In the options you can unlock everything if you really just want to explore the levels freely and not have to worry about these issues.

Final Thoughts

Overall the game feels like a student project, has some bugs, but is fun regardless. I would estimate the game to be around 6-10 hours and you can play it for free on Steam.

Unless you don't like 3D platformer adventure games, I can't think of a reason to not recommend it. Put it aside for that one day you're bored!

End of 2025

2025 had a ton of crazy games release both in the indie space and AAA space. I'm looking forward to seeing how 2026 compares.

The next newsletter will come at you Friday next year. ๐Ÿ˜ Until then Annie and I both wish you a very happy new year.
