I went for a fun little itch pick today.
Ami Iterum is a small little platformer game made for Bucko Jam 2025.
Inspired by JETPACK (an old DOS game) you run around, avoid machines, and collect spiders.
It's cute, nostalgic, and quite fun.
Things that stood out to me:
- The SFX: From what I gathered from the Bucko Jam rules these are actual voice clips provided by a VTuber named Amiya Aranha (the host of the jam).
- The game was easy to pick up and play. Despite having to figure out what the controls were the actual gameplay was easy to learn.
- You can put down the game and comeback later. The game seems to save your progress, reloading the itch page doesn't lose your progress. I'm assuming clearing browser cache would likely have an effect on your save but you can level select and skip the ones you've already played (If you don't care about all the stats the game tracks).
The Controls
From what I can tell there wasn't anything that told me what the controls were. Not even on the itch page itself.
If you plan on playing, these are what they are:
- z - Jump
- x (or Esc) - Menu
- Arrow Keys - Move\Menu Select
- Mouse - Can be used for menus
I'm not sure how long it would take to clear the game but it's one you can put down and comeback to.
