Review

Sasha here! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I saw Eternity Egg on socials a little while back. I'm actually certain a friend sent me a few videos. So when I saw it come up in my searches today for recent releases I was excited to check it out.

Now, the game isn't fully released. It's actually in early-access, released December 10th, 2025.

From my experience playing the game the developers seem to be using early-access for what most would consider the feature's main purpose: getting feedback from early game adopters and improving on gameplay. Despite this I don't actually think it was ready for an early-access release.

The controls are tricky and at times frustrating. There are some reviews that say otherwise but what should be known is that the game doesn't tell you what the controls are... or even what your move set is. If there was at least a help menu showing what movement abilities existed it be a much better experience.

Now, I wouldn't discount this game just yet. It appears that a lot of people have high hopes for it. It's sitting on Steam with an 80% for positive reviews. Despite the ton of the some of the reviews, folks seem to be recommending it in hopes that the issues they have will be resolved before the game's actual release.

I am also very optimistic for this one. It really feels like it can be something special. The art, music, and overall vibe is very unique for the adventure-platformer genre and gameplay footage of those that know how to play looks amazing... I just need a proper learning curve to get into it.

So just keep an eye on it maybe. :)

Final Thoughts

It's pretty expensive for what you're getting for an early access game. Even with it's current discount of 10% I wouldn't recommend the purchase unless you like extremely challenging platformers. I would still recommend trying to find any "how to play" information externally to the game as the game won't be giving it to you.

Coming Up...

Tuesday will be me again! I'll be trying to find a fun little Itch game for the next one. If you've seen anything cool send it my way (reply to this email).
