Review
Annie here!
If you like fast, smashy, satisfying gameplay, you're missing out by not playing ARTIUS.
Gameplay
This game is full of momentum, explosions, and juicy effects. If you like to run, jump, and slide really fast, all while smashing obstacles and enemies into smithereens, you'll love it. Artius is one of the most polished and juicy games I've ever played for the newsletter. This game is like garlic butter, smooth and full of flavour.
Story
There's a fun and goofy story included in this game, as well. You play as four artists of different mediums, in a fight to save the city from takeover by an anti-art regime. Feels a little relatable at times.
The way the story is told is very fun, too. I love the tone of the cutscenes and dialogue. The characters are super silly and full of life.
Visuals
I love the way ARTIUS looks. It's got such a fun, vibrant art style, with just the right amount of texture. A friend of mine mentioned Pizza Tower and I totally agree it has a similar feeling, full of life and silliness.
The animations are also great, fluid and punchy; and there's lots of delicious, explosive effects that make the gameplay super satisfying.
Music
The last thing I want to touch on is the music. IT'S SO GOOD. A lot of the soundtrack is on the developer's YouTube channel, but it's even better when you play the game yourself. In my opinion, this is honestly some of the best music I've heard in a newsletter game.
Final Thoughts
I usually go for more cute, casual games, but ARTIUS is a real gem of high-octane fun. Definitely try it out! The demo is free and has no reviews, let's give it some more love!
