Sasha here! ๐
Today's game is a Lowrezjam 2025 submission (August 1st-17th). The concept of Lowrezjam is that you have to create a game with a 64x64 resolution. There's so many cool looking games in this jam.
I was initially hesitant to cover this one. It took a little longer than I would have hoped to get that first key but after I understood the framing of the puzzles the game was really fun.
Totally wished it was longer but for the sake of this newsletter I felt it was the perfect length ๐คฉ
I would consider this game a Zelda-like.. just without the combat. A big difference other than that is are the controls. They made me feel closer to the "main" character (the cursor). The mouse controls felt more like I was exploring and not controlling some avatar. Perhaps that's because of the iconography of the cursor.
I'd be curious to know if it's the controls or if it was the iconography or (most likely) both that made it feel this way? ๐ค Maybe you have some thoughts on this?
You can beat the whole game in around 20-40 minutes. (Maybe faster if you're smarter than me ๐)
